Good evening!
Apologies for the severe delay in this post, I had a fairly busy evening.
Snow will begin in the next few hours; then with warming midlevels, expect a change to sleet throughout a majority of New England (far northern areas stay all snow and far southern areas will mainly be plain rain throughout) around or just prior to the morning commute. As the morning goes on with areas aloft continuing to warm, some freezing rain is likely through central New England while rain gradually moves north in Southern New England and much of Northern New England still snows (some sleet may occur there though.) Through midday expect southern and a large part of central New England to eventually switch to mixed precip showers and parts of central and northern New England to see lighter snow as the evening goes on. Meanwhile in some parts of well interior/western Southern New England, a significant freezing rain event could occur with warm air aloft but cold hanging on at the surface.
The worst of this event will likely be during the morning commute and shortly after.
With that said, here are my expected snowfall totals:
Freezing rain/ice:
I’ll have another update tomorrow morning – my alarms are set for 4:30 AM, hence that is the current time I plan to begin the update at.
