Cooler But Still Warm With Showers

Good morning!

Under mostly cloudy skies, expect temps to peak between 65-73 throughout New England (some cooler spots in the high elevations in northern Maine). Currently there are some widespread showers over southern Rhode Island; expect widespread showers throughout the eastern half of New England this morning, then chances for more showers this afternoon.

Have a great Tuesday!

Unseasonable Warmth for Columbus Day

Good morning!

Under mostly sunny to sunny skies, expect temperatures to range between the upper 60s in most of Maine, Vermont, and northern NH, and Cape Cod and the MA/RI Islands, to 70-78 in southwest Maine, southern/central NH, northwest Vermont, and interior MA/RI/CT.

Enjoy your Monday!

Warmer For Some, Cooler For Others, With PM Rain

Good morning!

Today’s temperatures will range between 44 and 73. The highs below 50 will be reserved for central/northern Maine, northern NH and northeast Vermont, while temps in the 70s will be mainly reserved for Connecticut, with some localized instances in eastern MA and adjacent south central NH not 100% out of the cards. Generally expect 50-60 in central NH, southern Maine (some above 60 possible), and most of Vermont, and 60-70 in Massachusetts and Rhode Island (mainly at/above 64).

Expect this to be accompanied by mostly cloudy to cloudy skies.

Expect a line of rain this afternoon and evening – starting between Noon and 5 PM (earliest west), with more widespread rain in northern New England beginning this morning; while action in southern New England will be also widespread, it will be a bit more abbreviated. Expect rain for all to wind down between 8 and 10 PM. In addition to areas of heavy rain, gusty winds up to 40 mph are possible, as some isolated thunderstorms are possible; the NWS Taunton technical discussion notes the potential for a brief and isolated tornado if low level lapse rates and instability are higher than current guidance indicates. However, I don’t see any reason to be concerned right now; just keep an eye to the skies, and if they become necessary, the warnings.

Enjoy your Friday!

Warm, Beautiful Day Today

Good morning!

Today will be an amazing day weather-wise, with highs between 65-75 for most, warmest in interior eastern MA (excluding southeast portions), interior southeast NH and interior southwest ME. Slightly cooler conditions may exist at the coast and in the northern mountains, between 58-65 degrees; as for wind, expect light wind inland and a bit of a seabreeze at the coast. All this will be under mainly sunny skies, with the best chance for the most clouds in northwest New England, but it will still be a mostly sunny day there.

Have a great Wednesday!

60s Return For Some, Still a Nice Fall Day

Good morning!

Under mostly sunny to sunny skies, with only passing high clouds for most (Southeast MA may see low clouds for much of the day however), expect temperatures to range in the upper 50s and low 60s across just about all of New England. With high pressure taking the reins, expect winds to be much calmer than they have been, with only isolated gusts to 10-25 mph at the coast, highest in southeast MA.

Have a great Monday!

Slightly Warmer/Less Windy Today

Good morning!

Today will be slightly warmer than yesterday, with highs between 55-60 throughout New England, under partly sunny to mostly sunny skies, and less breezy than yesterday with max gusts probably to 20-25 mph at most. It will remain dry, except an interesting note regarding the Mass. coastline from the NWS Taunton technical discussion from 4:00 this morning: “Bufkit soundings do indicate the potential for drizzle across the Mass. coastline thanks to the moist low levels.”

Have a great Sunday!

Autumnal Chill

Good morning!

With blustery NE winds in place, expect a breezy day (gusts 25-30 mph, 30-40 near the coast) and not much warming. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s across western and central MA, much of New Hampshire except for southern parts, northern Maine and most of Vermont. Some scattered spots in NH and Vermont may see either side of 50. Expect either side of 50 in interior southern NH and interior northeast MA, and 50-57 in much of Maine, coastal NH, interior southeast and coastal northeast MA, RI, and CT except the aforementioned NW corner. Clouds will be around for much of the day in SNE and Southern NH, if not all of the day, and there will be a risk of showers in these areas; the greater risk the farther south you go. Some clearing is possible in NNE, especially Maine, hence warmer temps.

Have a great Saturday!
